The VSC returned to Napa for a lovely afternoon at the historic Stags' Leap Winery, led by our resident sommelier, Ginevra.
We started with a delectable catered lunch by the bocce ball court paired with a brilliant rosé. Ginevra then gave us a private tour of the house and grounds. She poured us viognier, chardonnay, and some wonderful red blends as she regaled us with tales of the property's intriguing history, including a speakeasy and a murder! She also explained the rivalry between Stags' Leap Winery and not-to-be-confused-with Stag's Leap Wine Cellars. It involved a 13-year lawsuit and ended with a change in apostrophe!
We concluded with a sampling of grapes on the vine and a few rounds of bocce ball. Oh, and some photos around the house. Always have time for photos. ;)
